Keana killings: Tiv president cries out, seeks relief materials for over 5, 000 victims

President of Mzough U Tiv MUT, Nasarawa state chapter, Comrade Phillip Nongu, has said that over 5,000 people have been displaced in the recent skirmishes that erupted between Alago and the Tiv people of Keana Local government area of Nasarawa state.

Tiv leader who called on the Governor of the state, Engr. Abdullahii Sule to urgently provide relief materials to the internally displaced persons IDPs, as well as security to places like Kuduku, Obosidoma, Tachia and Bakin kortar to ensure the security of the displaced, lamented that the attack on the Tiv people of Nasarawa state who had been with the Alago brothers was becoming unbearable.

Nongu, said about 3, 000 displaced persons are in Kuduku town, Keana Local government area of the state while other casualties scampered without food, clothes shelter adding that othersin Lafia, Obi, Awe and Giza development area of Keana Local government needs intervention in the area of parliatives .

According to him, “David Gighgir, Mwuesi Chorugh, Boy Adidi, Dennis Tar, Baby Aondofa, Kenneth Tar, were killed on the first day of attack, tressing that others such as Austin Apella, Augustine Terfa and Moses Tyohina, were still missing as a result of the attack.

He also alleged that Students of the Federal Government Girls School Keana were also killed during the clash.

It would be recalled that early this week Alago people of Keana Local government area of Nasarawa state clashed with the Tiv at the border area of Benue state over land matters which claimed lives of several people in the area.
