Keana Killings : Nasarawa lawmaker, Hon Omadefu calls for calm.

Member representing Keana Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Mohammed Adamu Omadefu, has called for calm among his people over the recent killing of farmers in his constituency.

Hon. Omadefu (APC Keana) who is the Chairman, House Committee on Environment made the call while speaking with newsmen in Lafia .

He said that the call for the people of his constituency to remain calm and not to take the law into their hands has become necessary due to the importance of peace and unity to the overall development of the area and the State at large.

This, the lawmaker said already the State Government and other relevant authorities have taken up the matter and are on top of the situation.

” I condemn in totality the lingering killings of innocent Keana sons, who are genuine farmers to earn a living but were shot down to death in their farms yesterday. This act of carnage is worrisome and stands condemned especially at this farming period and when government is putting up all necessary measures towards sustainable peace and development in the State” he said.

Hon Omadefu while commiserating with the families of those who were killed and affected by the incident said security agencies are on top of the situation to fetch out the perpetrators.

The lawmaker urged the people of his constituency to continue to live in peace and tolerate one another irrespective of their affiliations.

” I want to use this medium to call on all Keanas and other people of the state to continue to live in peace and tolerate one another irrespective of their differences

” As peace is the requirement for the development of any society, peace is priceless and non negotiable, let embrace it all”
