Following the suspension of the National Chairman, Umar Abdullahi Ganduje by the Kano chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the State Working Committee has overturned the suspension of the national chairman, imposed by ward party leaders in Dawakin Tofa Local Government.

The initial suspension of Ganduje by leaders in his ward on Monday sparked controversy within the party.

However, the APC’s local government officials swiftly intervened, nullifying the suspension and taking action against those responsible for the move.

According to reports, the APC Dawakin Tofa Local Government chairman, Inusa Dawanau, accused the suspended party leaders of engaging in anti-party activities and revealed alleged meetings with opposition figures.

Following an investigation, the state working committee of the party has sanctioned the ward leaders responsible for the suspension, imposing a six-month suspension on them. A special investigations panel has been established to verify the allegations against the individuals involved.

Kano APC Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, confirmed the sanctions, citing evidence of meetings between the suspended party members and state government officials. He emphasized that the decisions of the local government party leaders have been officially adopted.

In response to the sanctions, one of the accused party members, Halliru Gwanjo, hinted at reasons for the suspension of Ganduje from the party, which were not fully disclosed in the statement.
