Just in: Strange disease kills four children, one hospitalized in Nasarawa

No fewer than four Children between the ages of 15, 7, 6 and 5 have been reportedly killed while one is currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital in Jankwe Development Area of Obi Local government area of Nasarawa state.

Four of the children who have loss their lives following the yet to be identified disease are said to be of the same parents while one who is still being treated in the hospital is of another family.

The four children who died within 24 hours after complains of stomach disorder, vomiting and purging reportedly loss their lives last Monday and yesterday Tuesday, August 06, 2024.

Confirming the incident to our Correspondent in a telephone conversation, the overseer of Jenkwe development area, Hon Luka Ayele said the four children died mysteriously while one is still recovering medical attention.

“Four children of same parents died mysteriously shortly after vomiting, purging while one is still receiving treatment leaving us confused in the area. We are yet to ascertain the root cause of their dead”, Ayele declared

“The children had left home to the farm healthy, but they later died in the farm of a suspected the strange disease suspected to be food poisoning.

Reacting, the Publicity Secretary of the Migili Youth Association, MYA, Comrade Samuel Akala appealed to the Government and other relevant authorities to swiftly intervene in order to stem and contain the outbreak of the disease as well as to save further spread.

“The circumstances that resulted in the sudden death of these children in Idah, Gidinye community on Monday and Tuesday calls for forensic findings” Akala stated.
