Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, the Anambra Commissioner for Education, has officially adopted Miss Mmesoma Ejikeme, the student from Anglican Girls Secondary School, Nnewi, who made headlines for inflating her 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result to secure the highest score.

Speaking from her office in Awka, Professor Chuma-Udeh revealed that she decided to adopt Mmesoma to help her achieve her life’s aspirations.

This decision came after the controversy surrounding Mmesoma’s exam results and a heartfelt meeting between the two.

The Commissioner expressed her dedication to Mmesoma’s future, stating, “Mmesoma is not the first person I am adopting.

Even as a lecturer, I was adopting children and guiding them through their educational journey. Mmesoma is making excellent progress and is currently receiving psychotherapy sessions with the state-appointed psychotherapist.”

She further emphasized, “I decided to adopt her to support her in realizing her dreams. She is a human being, and we cannot abandon her. We are appealing to JAMB to reconsider its decision concerning her.”

Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s commitment to the welfare of every Anambra State citizen was also highlighted by Professor Chuma-Udeh, assuring that Mmesoma will receive the necessary educational support.

This remarkable act of kindness is poised to reshape the future of Mmesoma Ejikeme, offering her an opportunity for personal growth and success, despite the challenges she has faced.
