Snator Abba Moro, a former Minister of Interior in the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan, has appointed to the esteemed position of Senate Minority Leader.

Moro, a two-time Senator hailing from Benue State in the North Central region, was nominated and subsequently confirmed by the opposition party.

His appointment follows the departure of Senator Simon Davou Mwadkwon from the Plateau North Senatorial district, who was ousted from the Senate by the Appeal Court.

After much deliberations within the Peoples Democratic Party, lawmakers reached a consensus to zone the Minority Leader position to the North-Central region, ensuring a representation of fairness and equity.

Abba Moro’s extensive political experience, coupled with his tenure as a former Minister, positions him to navigate the responsibilities and demands of this prominent role within the Senate.
