IPC Tasks Media Professionals on Adequate coverage of government activities

The International Press Centre, IPC, has tasked Media professionals to effectively educate the cItizens as well as adequately report the activities of government, to enable the people demand quality representation and good governance.

Executive Director, International Press Centre, IPC, Mr Lanre Arogundade, made the appeal during a media and CSOs stakeholders roundtable discussion on the documented Campaign promises of President Bola Tinubu In Abuja.

Arogundade noted that IPC has launched a digitalized IOS Web App on media election code to ensure that the code of conduct for election media coverage gets to all Journalists, researchers, including the Mass Communication students in tertiary Universities.

He also called on the Federal Government to deepen democratic dividends by fulfilling its campaign promises.

Responding to questions at the forum, Media Aide to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Mr. Tunde Rahman, represented by Ayo Oyalowo, said the present administration would do all within it’s power to ensure full implemention of all its campaign promises in all sectors .

The project which is funded by EU and being implemented by IPC in the country, is targeted at training Journalists as support to promote democratic governance in Nigeria.
