IMAP receives excellence award on Sports development in Nasarawa

The Nasarawa State owned Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic (IMAP) was on Monday given an excellence award on Sports Development by the Nasarawa State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association (SWAN) for taking the lead in sports Development in the state.

Presenting the Excellence Award to the Acting Rector, Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic, Lafia, Dr.

Nurudeen Mu’azu Maifata, the Director, Information, Public Relations and Protocol Mukhtar Wakeel (Makaman Wamba) alongside Chairman, Sports Advisory Committee of the institution, Dr.
Timothy Allu said the award was in recognition of the institutions giant strikes in sports promotion and development as well as redirecting the Minds of Athletics in Pursuits of Sports In Nasarawa State”.

The Acting Rector, Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic, Lafia, Nurudeen Mu’azu Maifata expressed delight over the recognition accorded the institution by the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Nasarawa State.

“Your finding the institution worthy of this Excellence Award will not only spur us to do more but ensure that the Polytechnic under my watch take sporting activities to the next level among other institutions in Nasarawa and beyond”, Dr Maifata stated.

Dr. Maifata while pledging to continue to support sporting activities in the institution in particular and the state in general also promised to fetch out young talents that will represent the state and Nigeria as a in local and international competitions.

“By doing this, we will help in creating wealth and job opportunities for teeming Nigerian graduates”, the Rector declared.

Present at the presentation were the Registrar of the Polytechnic, Zamani Habu Ibrahim, the Bursar, Zainab Dalhatu Aliyu and the director of Information, Public Relations and Protocol, Mukhtar Wakeel (Makaman Wamba)
