Dismissed CEO of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA), Halima Shehu, has come forward with bold assertions regarding the alleged embezzlement of N30 billion, claiming it was a strategic move to protect funds from Dr.

Betta Edu, the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management.

According to Shehu, the Minister had already misused a substantial 3 billion within a remarkably short period, prompting her to take action to safeguard the remaining funds.

The controversy escalated when reports revealed that Shehu diverted a significant 17 billion naira into her private account without presidential authorization, resulting in her subsequent suspension by President Bola Tinubu.

As the saga unfolds, fresh allegations emerged implicating the Minister, Betta Edu in the misappropriation of an additional 3 billion Naira, deepening the already convoluted scandal, with Shehu facing scrutiny following her arrest by the EFCC.
