The Governor of Benue State, Reverend Hyacinth Alia, has reinstated the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Fidelis Mnyim, after a period of suspension.

The announcement came on Monday during a state executive council meeting in Makurdi.

Mnyim was suspended on October 23 for his unilateral decision to include Benue in a lawsuit challenging the legality of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

His reinstatement followed his formal withdrawal of Benue from the lawsuit.

Following his return, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Tersoo Kula, confirmed that Mnyim had met the government’s conditions for reinstatement.
