Hon. Anamero Promises to Lift Constituents through Improved Legislation

The House of Representatives member-elect, representing Etsako West Federal Constituency of Edo State under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Honorable Dekeri Sunday Anamero has said he will do all within his powers to amend agricultural law that will impact, boost and rebrand farmers outputs in his constituency and Nigeria at large.


This he said will give the farmers more yield to compete favorably in the international market.

Hon. Anamero stated this after receiving his certificate of return from INEC in Abuja.

According to him, bringing new legislation in agriculture and solid mineral development would not only help people of his constituency who are predominantly farmers but would help other farmers and miners in the country, noting some of our laws are obsolete and its affecting farmers productivity especially to compete in international markets.

“You know our people are predominantly farmers, l am going to do everything possible to ensure that we lift farmers by passing enabling law that would impact positively on their outputs.

“Of course, you also know that Etsako is one of the economic hub of Edo State. I want to specially thanked my people for electing me to represent their interest in the National Assembly and l dedicated this certificate of return to them.

“I am proud of my people, all l can say is that, you have sent me here on errands, and l have no choice other than to work for you. As long as Nigeria parliament is concern, whatever they do, l will do it for my people” Dekeri noted.

While speaking on some of the challenges affecting his community, especially erosion due to mining, Dekeri maintained that he would ensure needed attention is given by the House with the support of other House members to nip it in the bud and address the issue.

He also vowed to pursue with vigor the pending Nigeria Minerals and Mining Act of 2007 that needed to be addressed in order for the law to effectively address and safeguard mining host communities.

“We have number of issues ravaging my community, especially on the erosion. There are gullies everywhere in my Constituency. That’s one of the areas that needs urgent attention and by the grace of God ,l shall call the attention of the House to address the issue.

The lawmaker also promised to pursue with vigor the pending the Nigeria Minerals and Mining Act of 2007 that will protect and guard host communities against illegal mining activities.
