Hardship not excuse for killings, other crimes in Nasarawa state– Gov. Sule

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state has warned criminals in the state against perpetuating crimes and criminalities under the guise of hardship.
The governor who assured that those in the habit of unleasing terror, pains, agonies on the citizens of the state must be brought to justice.
The governor directed security agencies in the state to carry out diligent investigations to pursue, fish out the perpetrators of dastard act and bring them to book.
Speaking during a condolence visit to the residence of Hassan Yahaya Egwa who was brutally murdered in Lafia Wednesday evening, the governor expressed shock at the brutal killing of Hassan Yahaya Egwa, the Sate Coordinator, Fadama III project.
Governor Sule while describing the late Hassan Yahaya Egwa, as a brilliant and committed young man who gave his best to uplift the lives of the people through the NG-cares programme, urged the deceased family, colleagues and friends to take solace in the many contributions of Hassan to society, while praying that Allah grant his soul eternal rest in Jannat firdausi
In his words according to a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Adra and made available to City Post in Lafia, “Criminality does not have a place in our society, those hiding under any guise to kill in Nasarawa state must henceforth have a rethink, relocate as the they will account for their actions”.
Sule who urged all to shun crime while reiterating government’s resolve to prioritize security and welfare of the people, added that the dedication, selfless service of the deceased Hassan to the state and his pleasant disposition will be missed.
It would be recalled that the Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Shehu Nadada, had ordered for a full scale investigation into the gruesome murder of late Hassan Yahaya Egwa, and officer with NG Cares in the state.
CP Nadada, gave the order when he visited the scene of the incident as well as paid condolence visit to the residence of the deceased Hassan Yahaya Egwa around the project quarters housing some government official off Shendam road, Lafia.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Nasarawa State Command, DSP Nansel Ramhan,, “the CP condoled the family, ordered full scale investigation to unravel the cause of the dastardly act and those behind the crime for possible arrest”.
It would be recalled that members of the state House of Assembly last Tuesday directed local government Chairmen in the state to urgently organize a security meeting to address the increasing spate of killings in the state.
The Lawmakers also appealed to the security agencies especially the police to step up it’s surveillance in order the stem the rate of killings, kidnapping and other criminal activities in Nasarawa especially the state Capital, Lafia.
