Gov Ododo Upgrades Ter Tiv of Kogi State to Third-Class Chief

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has approved the upgrading of the Ter Tiv Kogi State, Chief Moses Vor, to third-class status in a move to strengthen the relationship between Kogi and Benue states.

This development was announced during a visit by stakeholders, youths, and women groups from the Tiv community to the Government House in Lokoja today 17-10-2024

Governor Ododo expressed appreciation for the Tiv community’s unwavering support and peaceful coexistence, acknowledging their impressive turnout during the last election in support of the All Progressives Congress.

He pledged to appoint Tiv indigenes to his cabinet, fostering confidence that Kogi is home to all

The Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Alhaji Aliyu Umar, praised the governor for granting the audience, emphasizing the Tiv people’s peaceful nature and contributions to the state’s socio-economic development.

He advocated for equal opportunities for the Tiv community to participate in the state’s growth without fear or favor.

Chief Moses Vor, the Ter Tiv and Chairman Traditional Council of Tiv Kogi State, congratulated Governor Ododo on his supreme court victory and reassured him of their unwavering support.

Chief Vor commended the governor’s achievements, particularly the approval of a N72,500 minimum wage, making him the best-performing governor in the northern region.

The event culminated in the presentation of traditional Tiv attire to Governor Ododo by the Tiv people resident in Kogi State, symbolizing their appreciation and solidarity.
