Gov Alia Dissolves BSU Governing Council, Appoints Seven Member Visitation Panel To Probe Institutions Activities

Benue State Governor Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia yesterday, approved dissolution of the governing council of Benue State University, BSU, Makurdi with immediate effect.
The governor whose order was signed by secretary to the state government,SSG,Prof Joseph Alakali disclosed that the seven member visitation panel is headed by Prof Gabriel Moti.
According to a statement signed by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary Mr Tersoo Kula made available to journalists in Makurdi, said Barr Simon Orkuma will serve as secretary.
The statement named other members of the visitation panel to include Professors Kwaghkondo Agber, Christie Ekoja, Okpe Okpe, Mr Igyeigye Peter and Mr Sam Yuhwa respectively.
The seven member visitation panel whose inauguration was slated Monday but later stepped down for undisclosed reasons is mandated by the governor to amongst other things thoroughly audit activities of the Benue State University, BSU from 2016, when the last panel visited.
Governor Alia the statement added directed the panel to comprehensively investigate activities at the institution and report back accordingly for necessary action.
