FRSC Seeks support of Traditional institutions on Safer Road Campaign
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has solicited the support of Traditional institutions in the campaign on safer road and good driving culture among the motoring public.
FRSC Corps Marshal Mallam Shehu Mohammed while on a courtesy visit to the Olowo of Owo Land in Ondo State during the ongoing nationwide monitoring of traffic situation said the royal fathers have a lot to do in joining the vision of FRSC in making the road safe for socio economic activities.
Mallam Shehu Mohammed who maintained that the traditional rulers are critical stakeholders for the country to have a good driving culture appealed for more collaboration in reducing carnage on the highway.
He assured that the Corps would continue to provide necessary logistics support towards achieving effective traffic control in Ondo State.
Responding, the Olowo of Owo Kingdom Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin – Ogunoye said the traditional council of Owo would continue to senzitize the motoring public through town hall meetings and engagement with transport union Leaders
Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin- Ogunoye however solicited for more patrol vehicles and ambulances to ensure smooth vehicular movement of vehicles though Owo which he described as critical corridors that Link South West and South South as well as the North Central parts of the country.
The traditional rulers commended the Ondo state Sector Command for the professional conduct of FRSC personnel and prompt actions during emergencies.
High Chiefs of Owo Kingdom and leaders of neighboring communities were in attendance to receive the Corps Marshal and other members on the monitoring exercise in Ondo State.
