Former Nasarawa Health Commissioner, Dr. Bawa Ahmed Abimiku, Passes Away After Prolonged Illness

Dr. Bawa Ahmed Abimiku, a former Nasarawa State Health Commissioner known as Durbin Eggon, has tragically passed away after a prolonged illness. The sad news was confirmed by a close family member who opted to remain anonymous.

Dr. Abimiku, a revered figure in the health sector, breathed his last on Tuesday, December 19, at the Federal Medical Centre in Keffi, succumbing to the prolonged health battle he had been enduring.

Having played crucial roles in the state’s health landscape, Dr. Abimiku held significant positions, serving both as Commissioner and as a Member of the State Executive Council during the tenure of the late Alhaji (Dr) Aliyu Akwe Doma.

In accordance with Islamic customs, the burial ceremony for the respected former Commissioner is slated to occur at the Abuja Central Mosque in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) at 2:00 pm.
