Former Minister of Aviation Osita Chidoka has expressed worry over the dire economic hardship in Nigeria, saying that ” The number of students unable to afford fees, books, or proper meals deeply disturb me.

The atmosphere is enveloped by a profound sense of despair and hopelessness, almost fear”

The former Road Safety Corps Marshal in a statement sent to Newsmen stated that ” With daily price hikes – a bag of rice jumping from 65,000 to 70,000 in 6 days – the atmosphere is fraught with foreboding.

” This despair is compounded by a frightening sense of navigating heavy turbulence with no pilot in control – as uncertainty grows and poverty deepens, threatening to provoke unpredictable responses”

While reminding President Ahmed Tinubu on his promise to Nigerians he said that ” Mr.

President, you promised renewed hope; it appears that keeping hope alive is proving impossible and renewing it impractical. You urgently need to stop this drift. Work to restore governance, rebuild social trust, and rejuvenate our faltering state”

“The past eight years have eroded our nation’s value, leaving us with limited options and a ticking clock. Nigeria risks being mentioned in the same breath as Venezuela by global analysts soon”
