The Federal Government has announced a plan to sell 50kg bags of rice at a subsidized rate of N40,000 each to public servants. This initiative aims to address the ongoing food crisis in the country and mitigate its impact on Nigerian citizens.

According to a letter from the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-governmental Affairs, signed by Jaiyesimi Abimbola, the Director of Human Resources, interested staff members must complete a Google form on the OHCSF website and submit it to the Director of Human Resources for endorsement.

The letter specifies that the payment and distribution of the rice will be managed by designated officials.

To ensure transparency, the Chairman of the Joint Union Council of the Ministry will oversee the process.

The letter detailed the following procedures:
– Public servants interested in purchasing the rice must fill out and submit a Google form available at [OHCSF website](https://www.ohcsf.gov.ng).
– Payment and distribution will be handled by appointed officials.
– Each staff member is limited to purchasing one 50kg bag of rice, though multiple staff members can jointly purchase a single bag to share.
– Staff are instructed to disseminate this information within their respective departments for awareness and compliance.

Additionally, the Federal Government has established centers nationwide where Nigerians can buy 50kg bags of rice at the same rate. Minister of Information and National Orientation, Muhammed Idris, confirmed that this program is part of the Tinubu administration’s broader efforts to improve living conditions for citizens.
