Federal University Lafia secures accreditation for 16 courses

Authorities of the Federal University of Lafia says it has secured full accreditation for 16 of her academic programmes.

The Institution’s Public Relations Officer, Abubakar Ibrahim, made this know in an interview with newsmen Friday in Lafia.

He explained that the news was made known to the University through a letter, signed by Abraham Chundusu, Director of Accreditation, National Universities Commission (NUC) and addressed to the Vice Chancellor Professor Shehu Abdul-Rahman.

He further revealed that the recent feat was in addition to other courses being offered at the institution that were given accreditation in 2023.

He listed the programmes to includes; Agriculture, Fishery, Aquaculture, Forestry and Wildlife Management, Medical Laboratory Science and Physiology.

Others according to the institution’s public Relations Officer are; English and Literary Studies, French, Theatre and Media Arts, Business Education, Biochemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Zoology and Social Works.

Ibrahim further said that Anatomy and Computer Science had also gained interim accreditation status.

He however disclosed that the accreditation status is for a period of five years after which another exercise would be conducted for academic programmes.
