FCT FRSC DEPLOYS ABOUT THREE THOUSAND PERSONNEL FOR EASTER PATROL
The Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC says it has mobilized and deployed about three thousand officers and men for effective traffic control during the Easter Special Operation in the Federal Capital Territory.
The FCT Acting Sector Commander of the FRSC, Iliyasu Isah-Nzapisma, who stated this while speaking with newsmen after monitoring the ongoing eight-day special operation in Abuja, said all twenty Unit Commanders in the territory have been directed to carry out patrols until 10 o’clock at night.
According to him, this is to ensure the free flow of traffic at all entry and exit points, with standby ambulances available for prompt rescue operations during emergencies.

The FCT Acting Sector Commander maintained that ninety-one traffic offenders have so far been apprehended and prosecuted for over one hundred offences by a mobile court within the last two days of the special operation.
He stressed that most of the prevalent offences include overloading, over-speeding, use of mobile phones while driving, use of expired tyres, non-use of seat belts, among others.
Mr. Isah-Nzapisma, however, appealed to road users, especially commercial drivers, to adhere to traffic rules, as officers and men will not tolerate reckless driving in the six area councils of the territory during and after the Easter celebrations.
