Ex-Senate President Lawan To Embark On Massive Empowerment For Constituents

President of the Ninth Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawan, is set to carry out a large scale empowerment programme for his constituents of Yobe North Senatorial District.

The lawmaker, who is also scheduled to flag-off the sixth annual medical outreach and livestock vaccination programmes on the 23rd of December, 2023, will be honoured with a grand reception by his constituents on the 24th of December, 2023.

The empowerment programme, which, is billed to take place on the 25th of December, 2023, will hold at the Gashua township stadium.

Empowerment materials to be distributed include: Toyota Land Cruiser Sports Utility Vehicles, Peugeot sedans (406 and 307), Sharon buses, 18-seater Toyota buses, tractors for farming, combined harvesters, rice planters, fire fighting trucks, tricycles (Keke NAPEP), and small harvesters.

Others are motorcycles, power generators, refrigerators and deep freezers, grinding machines, sewing machines, irrigation pumping machines, chemical sprayers (manual and auto), and pots and stoves.

The flag-off for the sixth annual medical outreach and livestock vaccination programmes, on the other hand, will take place on the 23rd of December, 2023.

The centres for the medical outreach programme are the General Hospital, Gashua; and the Federal Medical Centre, Nguru. Also, the flag-off for the livestock vaccination programme will hold at Yusufari local government area.

The medical outreach and livestock vaccination programmes, which, commenced in 2018, are undertaken annually for the people of Yobe North Senatorial District by Senator Ahmad Lawan.

The programmes are aimed at providing free medical care and livestock vaccination services to the people, especially the poor who may not have access to quality healthcare services.

The medical outreach programme typically includes free consultations, tests, and treatment for a variety of illnesses and conditions. Medical personnel, including doctors, nurses, and pharmacists, are on hand to provide care and advice to the patients. The programme also includes the distribution of free medications and medical supplies to those in need.

The annual livestock vaccination programme is aimed at protecting livestock from common diseases and ensuring the health of the animals. Veterinarians are on hand to administer vaccines to cattle, sheep, goats, and other animals. The programme also includes the distribution of free livestock feed and supplements to help improve the health and productivity of livestocks.

The Senator Ahmad Lawan Annual Medical Outreach and Livestock Vaccination Programmes have been praised by many for the positive impact on the health and well-being of the people and livestock in the area.

The programmes have helped to improve access to healthcare services, reduce the incidence of disease, protect livestock from disease, and also helped to improve food security and boost the local economy.
