Ex-Senate President Lawan Donates N50m To Borno Flood Victims

President of the 9th Senate, Sen. Ahmad Lawan, has made a donation of N50 million naira to support victims of flooding disaster in Borno State.

Senator Lawan in a statement by his media adviser Dr Izrel Tabiowo made the donation on Tuesday, when he paid a visit to Maiduguri to commiserate with the Governor of Borno State, Prof.

Babagana Zulum.

The lawmaker, who represents Yobe North Senatorial District, was accompanied by the Deputy Speaker of the Yobe State House of Assembly, Rt.

Hon. Y’au Usman Dachia; Rt. Hon.
Adamu Dala Dogo and Hon Sanda Karabade of Yobe State House of Assembly.

Others on his entourage were his Special Adviser on Budget, Alhaji Suleiman Jamo; Chairman, Bade Local Government Council, Hon.

Ibrahim Yurema, his former Chief of Staff, Dr. Mohammed Aji, and many stakeholders from Yobe North Senatorial District.

Senator Lawan, during the visit, commended Governor Zulum and the Borno State Government for their prompt response to the disaster by deploying emergency services to provide relief materials, evacuate affected residents, and restore basic services.

He further commended the Federal Government for its swift response and support; and urged development partners, as well as humanitarian organizations to provide assistance to Borno State to mitigate the impact of the flood.

He prayed for the souls of the deceased, and speedy recovery for all those affected by the disaster.
