Enugu Governor at Church, the unusual and lessons

It’s no news that the governor of Enugu State went to church and sat down in the middle like an ordinary person and the presiding pastor rushed to beg him to move to the front seat but the governor refused.

The Pastor kneels down to beg the Governor in church and the Governor knelt down too, to beg them that he can’t move to the front seat. The video is viral but what lesson did one learn from the ac.

Very unusual because the system made it so. There are so many good souls in public office but we have a very poor system in the country that tends to corrupt every politician or any public office holder.

Nigeria is blessed with people of integrity and passion for service but we have a very weak system that makes nonsense of every good intention.

Hence, we must strive to have a very strong system to make the society a better one even for future generations.

About forty decades ago, “Iron Lady” Margaret Thatcher at a Conference on enterprise economy tagged ‘State of the World Forum’ said “Countries are not rich in proportion to there natural resources, if they were, Russia would now be the richest country in the world, Angola would be very rich and many other countries with lots of natural resources but they have not had the enterprise economy to develop those resources.. but has been poor. The countries that have the wrong system, not created the wealth, not cared about the people. Look at the order side… it is the political system that enhances the enterprise of the people, which give them the framework to within which to operate”. Over forty years ago and nobody can say she was wrong then because that’s the truth.

What the governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, did was actually humility at it’s best especially if the intention was good. A public office holder is in the office to serve and not to be served. Service to the people must come first. Lessons must be learnt because public office holders are accountable for every actions while in office because it is a trust.

The foundation for a better and rich society must therefore be laid and we must be ready to sacrifice.

We must all ensure to build the country for future generations especially in the area of security and laying the framework for a better tomorrow.

The Tinubu led administration is laying the foundation for a better tomorrow, although with it’s attendant pains and all hands must be on deck to make Nigeria great again.

We must all be ready to serve the people with good intentions for development for children yet unborn.
