Onwenu, born on January 31, 1952, was widely revered as “The Elegant Stallion” by the Nigerian press.

In addition to her illustrious career in music, she also served as the chairperson of the Imo State Council for Arts and Culture, contributing significantly to the cultural landscape of Nigeria.
