Eid-el-Fitr: National President of HDTDTA Felicitates With Muslims, Decries Extortion Of His Members On The Highway

The National President of Heavy Duty Truck Drivers Association, HDTDA, Chief Uche Rogers Nebuwa has felicitated with Muslims and members of the Association on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

In his Sallah message in Abuja, Chief Uche Rogers Nebuwa admonished Muslims to use the occasion in praying for the unity, peace and development of Nigeria.

He also stressed the need for them to use the period in rededicating their lives to the service of God and humanity.

According to him, this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebration calls for sober reflection in view of the current situation in the country.

The National President used the occasion to call on the Federal Government to declare state of emergency on the nation’s highway to reduce accidents and carnage on the road.

He described bad condition of roads as some of the challenges confronting heavy duty truck drivers nationwide.

Chief Uche Rogers Nebuwa who also expressed concern over extortion of his members on the highway across the country by a group led by one Emmanuel Osigbemeh appealed to the Inspector General of Police, IGP, to come to their aid by putting an end to the illegal activities.

Chief Uche Rogers Nebuwa who is also the Commander of Civilian Joint Task Force, CJTF, South East in charge of Anambra State called for the inclusion of members of Heavy Duty Truck Drivers Association in the nation’s security apparatus towards combating insecurity in the country.

While stressing the need for improved transpiration system in the country, the National President pledged the support of the Association towards the realization of the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s led administration on the area of transportation sector
