The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has raided a hotel in Kaduna suspected to harbour new naira notes for vote buying.

A viral post on the incident reads: “EFCC has raided a Hotel called White Castle in Kaduna and Seized hundreds of millions of cash in new Naira Notes.

Currently some officials of the Kaduna state Government are in custody.

An APC woman leader known as Maman Alhaji is in custody also.

“White Castle Hotel is said to be frequented by Senator Uba Sani, the Kaduna APC Governorship candidate”

However, an official of the Kaduna State Government who spoke with News Express this morning said the EFCC operatives did not recover any money during the raid.

He said: “They came with a search warrant but didn’t see any money. They saw the woman with wrappers in Ghana Must Go bags. They should have snapped like they do in other places if they saw money.”

The raid came hours after EFCC operatives intercepted over N32 million in new notes in Lagos suspected to have been stockpiled for the purpose of buying votes during today’s Presidential and national Assembly elections.
