EDO GOVT REACHES OUT TO VULNERABLE COMMUNITIES
As a demonstration of the Edo State Government’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities in the state, The Office of the Edo State First Lady has extended kindness to vulnerable communities in the state, with a visit to the Osiomo Leprosorial Centre and Federal Psychiatric Hospital.
In her speech, the Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Mrs. Edesili Okpebholo Anani, represented by her personal assistant, Mrs. Mabel Abeto, noted that the visit was part of the food outreach scheme initiative of Senator Oluremi Tinubu, aimed at providing support to vulnerable communities under the Renewed Hope initiative of the Social Investment Programme.
“I am here to present these essential food items to you on behalf of our Mother, the Edo State First Lady, Mrs.Edeseli Okpebholo Anani to you for onward distribution to members of your community.”
The chairman of the community, Mr. Karim Iria, while commenting on the effectiveness of the initiative in ameliorating the plights of the people also expressed gratitude to the First Lady for the visit as well as the continuous support they enjoy from the government of Senator Monday Okpebholo.
He however appealed to the State Government to review the monthly stipend for the Leprosorial Centre.
Also Speaking at the meeting, the Head of Clinical Services at the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Dr. Owie Osietin appreciated the First Lady for the kind gesture and promised to utilize the food items as requested.
The highpoint of the meeting was the presentation of food items to the communities, by Mrs. Abeto who noted that the gesture was on behalf of the Edo State First Lady.
