Do Something Extra, Put in that Little Effort, – Amb.Madubike Challenges Super Falcons as They File Out Against England in Crucial Match.

Nigeria’s female football team, the Super Falcons , has promised to make the nation proud as the players file out this morning against the English national female side in the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup holding in Australia and New Zealand.

Speaking, after the team’s warm-up match, Sunday, in Brisbane, High Commissioner of Nigeria to Australia and the Pacific Region, Amb.

Anderson N. Madubike, challenged the female side to do something “extra” and turn the tide against the English female side. He explained that all that is needed to bring in victory for Nigeria is “that little effort” and urged the players to go for it.

“Everyone is talking about Nigeria, that we have an edge.

We can come out victorious. We have the Nigerian spirit. We can defeat any team here and go all the way. Those who are winning have no two heads”

Continuing, the Nigerian diplomat told the players that God who made them defeat the highly-rated Australian team on their home soil would defile every other opposition to their advancement to the quarter-final stage and beyond.

“Watching you playing, giving out your all… technical crew,players focused,I want you to do something extra.Put in that little effort.That God that defiled all odds for you to beat Australia,will be with you.Monday( today) will not be an exception.Let us carry the day.”

Captain of the team, Onome Ebi thanked Amb. Madubike for all the care and concerns of the Nigerian Mission in Australia for the Super Falcons since their arrival in the region. She , particularly, appreciated all the refreshment from the Mission and promised that the team would do its best to make Nigeria proud.

Amb. Madubike also used the occasion to pray for the team, stressing the need to shun distraction, confusion as well as any tendency towards individualistic display that might rub negatively on the performance of the team.He pledged appreciations to God from the players and all Nigerians in the event of victory, adding that whatever a man has comes from God.

The Super Falcons are looking forward to bettering the record of African teams in the female mundial by reaching and going beyond the quarter-final stage in this year’s championship.
