Deputy Senate President seeks prayers for rapid national development

The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, has urged clerics in the country to intensify prayers for rapid national development.

Speaking when members of the Kano State Council of Imams led by their chairman, Sheikh Mohammed Nasir Adam, paid him a courtesy visit at the National Assembly, Abuja, Senator Barau appealed to the clerics to always support the government with prayers in its efforts to turn around the country’s fortunes positively.

Senator Barau, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media & Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, commended the clerics for their commitment to the development of the country.

He reiterated the commitment of the Federal Government to revive the economy, create employment and address other challenges bedevilling the country.

‘’ All that you have mentioned are very important. We will look at it with a view of addressing the challenges facing us as a country. We will follow them one after the other. I want to use this opportunity to thank you once again for your immense support and prayers. Intensify the prayers for rapid national development,’’ he said.

Earlier, the chairman of the council, Sheikh Mohammed Nasir Adam, congratulated Senator Barau on his emergence as the Deputy President of the Senate.

He also expressed optimism that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would turn around the country’s fortunes if given the needed support.

He appealed to the federal government to address the unemployment in the country, saying the security challenges in the North were being fueled by unemployment.
