Former Federal Commissioner for Information and South – South Leader, Chief Edwin Clark has advocated expulsion of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory ( FCT Abuja ), Barrister Nyesom Wike , from the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP).

Chief Clark’s call for expulsion of Wike was made in an open letter addressed to the Acting National Chairman of PDP , Amb Umar Illiya Damagum and read to newsmen on Tuesday at his Asokoro, Abuja residence .

According to him, survival of PDP ahead of the 2027 general elections , lies in flushing out enemies within the party most of whom are working hand in gloves with Wike .

” Wike’s naked dance at the market square with one leg in PDP and the other leg in the ruling All Progressives Congress ( APC) has turned into national political shame and embarrassment which must be stopped with expulsion from PDP.

” In a nutshell, Wike must go , for PDP to survive “, he said .

He chronicled all the anti party activities Wike had been doing against PDP since late 2022 to warrant his expulsion from the Party , aside insulting , intimidating and harassing faithful party members in and outside Rivers State.

One of such, according to the Elder Statesman, was an alleged threat Wike sent to the Chairman, Board of Trustees of PDP and former President of the Senate, Senator Adolphus Wabara for suggesting disciplinary action against those indulging in anti – party activities in April this year.

” As expected of a BOT chairman desirous to make things work well in his party, Sen. Wabara called out that actions be taken against members carrying out anti-party activities.

“To Barr. Wike, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees has committed an offence by stating that measures should be taken against erring members.

“For this reason, Barr. Wike wrote a stinker in the form of a letter to him, using unprintable languages, and even threatening him, that he was coming for him, saying ” how would your late wife
feel the way you embarrass yourself and your family?

“You are a big shame to your generation.
Rivers State matter will consume you.
I will speak about you soon”, he quoted Wike to have said .

He added that part of the reason why Wike must be expelled from PDP, is persistent trouble allegedly being formented by him in Rivers State against Governor Siminialayi Fubara and other peace loving people in the State .

Chief Clark also admonished the Acting National Chairman of PDP and National Secretary , Senator Sam Anyanwu from being stooges of Wike within the party .

He warned that posterity would not be kind to them if they continue pandering to Wike’s plan to destroy PDP ahead of 2027 general elections , wondering how as National Leaders of the party , found to be shielding the 27 lawmakers who defected to APC in Rivers State from being litigated against .

“The obvious antiparty activities of you and the National Secretary, both of whom are obviously tools in the hands of Barr. Nyesom Wike, used with all intention to bring down the government of Siminalayi Fubara, the Executive Governor of Rivers State, as confessed by Barr. Wike himself during his recent outing at Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, the local government of Sen. George Sekibo, is palpable”, he added .
