Building collapse: Many still trapped in Dape four storey building

A four storey building still under construction in Dape, Life Camp in the federal capital territory was said to have collapsed with more than 20 persons under the debris struggling for life.

The building, which was intended for hotel accommodation, was alleged to be owned by Summit Villa hotel services.

According to eyewitnesses at the site who pleaded annonimity the collapsed hotel trapped more than 20 persons working at the site as at the time of filling this report.

He explained that the building gave way unexpectedly during the casting work, shortly after the engineer had vacated the site.

The collapsed building is said to be located in the swampy area of Dape near Berger Clinic.

Between 6pm to 8pm yesterday , the combined rescue team of FEMA, NEMA, Development Control and the Nigerian police who were fully on ground to rescue the trapped victims had successful rescued 9 victims as confirmed by Alhaji Abbas Idris the FCT Emergency Management Agency Director General.
