Director -General, Directorate of Technical Aid Corps, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Yusuf Buba Yakub, has said that the world will , certainly, be a better place if leaders and individuals alike strive to exemplify the virtues of peace, love and tolerance for dissenting voices and beliefs ,which the Holy Prophet Muhammad ( PBUH) spent time to pursue and to promote during his earthly sourjourn.

Buba stated the above in a message of felicitations to the Muslim Ummah made available to his media handlers early today in Abuja on the occasion of this year’s Eid el Maulud celebration .

He noted that the birth and teachings of the Holy Prophet were indicative of one who desired the highest form of virtues for man in his relationship with Allah( SWA) on one hand and with his fellow man on the other hand and opined that Nigerians needed such a mindset to move forward at this period of daunting national challenges.

While re-iterating that the teachings of the Holy Prophet were aimed at retaining a global order that will constantly be characterized by peace, love and tolerance amidst diversity in tongue and creed, the former Federal legislator said such a lesson was important to all Nigerians at this time

“The Holy Prophet lived in peace and promoted peaceful co-existence among his neighbours, some of whom did not share in his beliefs. To him, every one was free to pursue their relationship with their Creator and seek ways that would make them attain the highest level of closeness and affinity with their Creator.

“In all his dealings, he exemplified fairness to all and stood tall in matters of commitment to the ways of Allah( SWA) and ensured that , by doing so, he was able to remain constantly deserving of the mercies, kindness and blessings of the Most High,” the Adamawa-born farmer and technocrat highlighted.

The DTAC DG used the occasion of the celebration to admonish Nigerians of all faiths and tongues to remain in peace with one another by imbibing the lessons learnt in the life and times of the Holy Prophet. Stressing that our nation’s diversity should only be seen as a source of strength, Buba urged all citizens to close ranks with one another at all times and to continually pray Allah to sustain the new Administration in order to enable Mr President and his team to deliver on what he described as their “very lofty ideas and best intentions” for the country.
