Breaking News: Akwa Ibom Governor Loses Wife

The Akwa Ibom State Government has announced the sudden and unexpected death of the state’s First Lady, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, wife of the Governor, Pastor Umo Eno.

In a statement released early Friday, the State Commissioner for Information, Ini Ememobong, shared the heartbreaking news, revealing that the First Lady passed away following a brief illness.

The nature of the illness has yet to be disclosed.

The announcement, titled “Unexpected Sunset,” reads, “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of the Wife of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Her Excellency, Pastor Mrs.

Patience Umo Eno, following an illness.

She passed away peacefully at the hospital on 26th September, 2024, in the presence of her family. The family submits to the will of the Almighty and asks for the prayers and support of kind-hearted individuals during this difficult time.”

The statement also noted that further details would be made available by the family at a later time, but they have requested privacy as they grieve their loss.

Governor Umo Eno, while acknowledging the immense support from well-wishers, expressed his gratitude to all who have stood by the first family during this period of profound sorrow. Despite this tragic loss, the Governor reassured the citizens of Akwa Ibom that his dedication to the service of the state remains resolute.
