Avoid flood prone areas-Speaker Tajudeen Abbas advises FcT residents

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Tajudeen Abbas wants the public to take all necessary measures to avoid flood prone areas.

In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, Mr.

Abbas made the call while bemoaning the flood that ravaged the Trademore Estate, Lugbe, Abuja, which damaged property worth millions of Naira.

According to the Speaker, relevant government agencies had before the rainy season alerted the public to the possibility of flood in some parts of the country, saying the public must heed such warnings.

The Speaker who sympathizes with the residents of the Trademore Estate over the unfortunate incident calls on the authorities to swing into action to avert the reoccurrence of the incident.

According to the FCT Emergency Management Agency, FEMA,
116 were affected by the diverstating flood.
