Atiku,Others Storm Bauchi For PDP Presidential Campaign Flagg Off.

Ahead of 2023 national elections across the country,the people Democratic Party PDP standard flag bearer Atiku Abubakar and his campaign trains storm the ancient city of Bauchi,Bauchi state ,as the national election have already draws nearer in the federal republic of Nigeria.

Now in all the angles of the city Centre,all economic activities have reached the highest peak when the PDP presidential candidate,Atiku Abubakar and his campaign council stepped into the state capital for the purpose of presidential and other PDP candidates political campaign.

The Venue of the campaign at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa stadium was at its fullest capacity where the large numbers of supporters and well-wishers of the party gathered around for welcoming the PDP Presidential campaign team.

The presidential candidate of the PDP and his campaign team arrived Abubakar Tafawa Balewa stadium around 11:55 and he was accompanied by the party national chairman Dr Ayu,his running the governor Delta state,Dr ifeanyi Okowa,Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom state,Governor Aminu Waziri Of sokoto state and other very important dignitaries in the party.

The presidential candidate of the PDP,Atiku Abubakar was and his team was received by governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state,and PDP gubernatorial candidate ahead of 2023 elections and other state party executives and critical stakeholders of the party in the state.

The presidential candidate of the PDP paid homage to the Emir of Bauchi,Dr Lurwanu Suleiman Adamu,then the presidential campaign of the PDP moved back to the stadium for campaign address and message of hope to hundred of thousands of people Democratic Party supporters whom have gathered in the stadium.

The presidential candidate of the PDP,Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has promised to fixed all the wrongs committed by APC’s led government in Nigeria,and urged all the voters across Nigeria to massively come out and vote for all PDP candidates in the forthcoming National elections across the country.

The Governor of Bauchi state also added that PDP is the only way out this time around in order to rescue Nigeria from the hands of mischief makers.

Governor Bala Mohammad has concluded that his administration have done so brilliantly in transforming the state and urged all the voters to return the PDP to power in 2023 elections,the statement reiterated.

NCC Commended as AfricaNXT 2023 Begins

Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, at the opening of the AfricaNext show at the Landmark Event Centre in Lagos on Monday attracted industry commendation for its efficient regulatory processes that have given verve to the realisation of full digital economy in the country.

According to the statement, chief executive officer of CashToken Africa, Mr. Lai Labode said the manner with which the Commission understands and supports the emergence of companies that have critical roles to play in actualising the dreams of the digital economy, promises that Nigeria will make the desired impact in the future of the country’s Information and Communication Technology, ICT, development.

Labode said NCC’s approach to transform the telecom industry and contribute to the Federal Government’s digital economy agenda was reflected in the diligence, speed and smartness in processing recent applications including that of CashToken, which, he said, had led to a major collaboration with Mobile Network Operators.

Other participants also spoke about the demonstration of commitment to efficiency in NCC’s operations and attainment of excellence in regulatory oversight, a key item in the Commission’s extant Five-Point Agenda for transforming the telecom sector.

CashToken Africa, operated by CeLD, is a Nigerian company advocating performance-based customer rewards and nudging firms to reward their customers with life-transforming rewards.

Deputy President of the Senate and the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship candidate in Delta State, Obarisi Ovie Omo-Agege, says he will make quality healthcare and education accessible, and affordable to Deltans if elected as the next governor of the state.

He also promised to invest in security architecture to ensure adequate security of lives and properties in the state and make the state investment-friendly to attract businesses which in turn create jobs for teaming unemployed youths in the state.

Omo-Agege gave the assurance on Monday during a Town Hall meeting with the Private School Owners of Nigeria (PSON), and Members of various healthcare associations in Delta State.

Addressing the school owners in Ekpan, Uvwie local government area of the state, the lawmaker representing the Delta Central Senatorial District said that investment in education was very important adding that it was the bedrock of development.

Omo-Agege noted that a country was as good as the product of her education and assured that he would address the needs of the private school owners when he emerged as governor.

The APC Governorship candidate decried the hardship retirees had gone through over the years in the state noting that some had died without getting their gratuities and promising to address the anomalies.

He expressed displeasure over the level of underdevelopment in Warri and pledged to embark on mass urban renewal in the Warri metropolis.
“Unemployment is key to us and we have it in our blueprint.

“We will dredge the Warri River to allow vessels to navigate into our ports and by implication create jobs for our people.
“We will also ensure multinationals operating in Delta relocate their headquarters to the state,” he said. Omo-Agege urged the people to vote for all the APC candidates in the forthcoming general elections.

Earlier, PSON bemoaned the exorbitant enrolment levies, license renewal, and other taxes being paid to the state government.

They decried being exploited by the state government despite their contribution to addressing unemployment in the state.
The school owners consequently urged senator Omo-Agege to address the challenges when he emerged as governor of the state.

Mr. Lucky Ovwigho who presented an address on behalf of the PSON said that the group meticulously examined all the political candidates vying for the various political offices in the state and made its choice.
According to him, among all the gubernatorial candidates in Delta, senator Omo-Agege was the most qualified.“He has the zeal and feeling of the people of Deltatoour much-craved political eldorado, economic freedom, empowerment, and job creation that have been elusive over the years.

“We have longed for an egalitarian society, a state of our own, where equity, fairness, and justice shall be the symbol of the citizens and government, irrespective of origin or zonal backgrounds.

“Sir, we are highly endeared to the capacity, personality, and proven track records of your stewardship to the people of Delta Central in particular, Delta, and Nigeria in general.

“You have indeed brought light to your people through your qualitative and quantitative representation which we tagged the first of its kind“To this end sir, PSON is prepared to deliver on your mandate by involving all our executive members, private school owners, teaching and non-teaching staff, our esteemed parents and everyone on the street of Delta, “he assured.

Ovwigho, however, listed some of the group’s needs to include; a reduction in the schools’ yearly renewal fees, provision of grants, and others.

The APC campaign train thereafter moved to Effurun where they held another town hall meeting with the Medical Associations in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area.⅞

Addressing the healthcare workers, Omo-Agege said that healthcare delivery should be a right for everyone, not a privilege.

The lawmaker while assuring adequate training and retraining of healthcare workers also promised to upgrade the existing healthcare facilities and also built first-class health facilities in each of the senatorial districts.

Responding to questions from the health workers, Omo-Agege said that he would have a quarterly interactive session with the health workers to discuss ways to move the sector forward.

The Governorship candidate said that he would make the needed investment in public healthcare to reduce the overburden in the tertiary healthcare system.

He also said that his administration would ensure Public Private Partnership (PPP) in the healthcare management system to reduce the child mortality rate.
Speaking further, Omo-Agege said that he would partner with the Local Government authority to strengthen primary healthcare in the state.

He also said that his government would ensure a robust and effective working relationship between the healthcare workers and security agencies in the state to ensure effective service delivery.
Various health workers who spoke at the meeting charged Omo-Agege to ensure that he restores sanity to the employment and promotion of health workers, noting that a situation where ethnic consideration is placed above competence will not promote quality healthcare delivery in the state.

Among the Medical Associations were: the Medical and Dental Consultant Association of Nigeria; the Association of Resident Doctors (DELSU) branch; the Association of National Private Medical Practitioners of Nigeria, others were: the Association of Nurses and Midwifery (DELSU) branch, the Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria and Pharmacy Society of Nigeria.

Among the campaign team of the APC were: Elder Godsday Orubebe, former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs and Director-General, Delta APC Campaign Organisations, Dr. Veronica Ogbuagu, former Commissioner for Education in Delta, and others.

FCTA Officials Urges to Support Fight Against Corruption

Officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration have been urged to support fight against corrupt related conduct at all levels.

The Chairman, Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), Prof. Is Mohammed stated this during a workshop its organized in conjuction with FCTA for political office holders in Abuja, Tuesday

The Chairman who was represented by Bulus Zaphania, said the programme would guide political office holders on compliance with Code of Conduct in line with the National Anti-corruption strategy (NACS).

He told the participants that they are
expected to comply with the Code of Conduct for Public Officers as
prescribed in the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as
amended) and other laws related thereto:

“We employ The Area Council Chairmen to take queue from the FCTA administration that has put up this workshop, and replicate
same at your various Area Councils so as to ensure 100% Compliance from
all your staff.

“The participants are requested to put Public interest above every other interest while carrying out their duties”

Mohammed told the officials that the Bureau will soon be launching the online Assets declaration portal, which the pilot scheme will start with its staff.

In his remarks, the permanent secretary Adesola Olusade, said the workshop would help to build the capacity and knowledge of the workforce to strengthen fight against corruption.

“The workshop will help build the capacity and knowledge of FCTA officials in compliance with the Code of Conduct, which will also strengthen the fight against corruption in the system”

One of the participants and Senior Special Assistant on Monitoring, Inspection and Enforcement to the Minister of FCT, Ikharo Attah said public office holders should be guided by the code of conduct.

According to him, ” The workshop is what we have to take serious, because most a times public officers don’t understand that they are holding a public trust, every public office holder should be guided by the code of conduct. You don’t put your interest above the collective interest of the people.

“We must stand to do the things that are for good of the people, not only for your children and your family. What is expected of public office holders is to have high standard of conduct”

Gwarimpa building collapsed: FCTA, FHA Plans Compensation for Families of Victims

The Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA and the Federal Housing Authority, FHA, are currently working towards ensuring that families left behind by victims of last week collapsed building in Gwarimpa District of the territory are compensated for the loss.

This was one of the decisions reached at a meeting between top officials of the FCTA and the FHA according to the report presented to the FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello by the Chairman of the FHA, Senator Lawal Shuaibu in Abuja.

In a joint statement made available to journalists by the FCTA Director of Press, Anthony Ogunleye and FHA Public Relation Officer, Kenneth Chigelu, it said the FCT Administration

have set up a technical team to look into the report prepared by the FHA on the circumstances surrounding the collapse 3 story building which led to 3 fatalities.

The statement affirmed that both FCT Minister and the FHA Chairman regretted the loss of lives and commiserated with the families of the deceased.

The meeting also resolved that the investigation by the technical team is also aimed at strengthening the internal working mechanism of both agencies and that all those found culpable in the building collapse will face appropriate punishment commiserate with the crime committed.

The statement read in parts: ” The FCT Minister announced that in line with FCTA policy, the allocation of the collapsed building be revoked.

” The meeting also commended the various agencies involved in the rescue efforts that saved 21 lives and stressed the need for cases of contraventions to go beyond mere issuance of “stop work” notices.

” Both organisations resolved to work very closely together to prevent any future occurrence.

Agric Minister Inaugurates Tractorisation Programme to Boost Food Security

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr Mohammad Abubakar, has disclosed that the Federal Government has inaugurated the Tractorisation programme to encourage mechanised farming, boost food and nutrition security and create more jobs for Nigerian youths.

Abubakar, in a statement issued by , Chief Information Officer in the ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Ezeaja Ikemefuna, on Monday, said this would fast track development in the agricultural sector.

He said that the Ministry was in collaboration with the Bank of Agriculture (BOA) and manufacturers’ representatives to make the project a success.

He said they have also agreed to support the programme by making tractors with implements available to farmers at a concessionary deferred payment terms.

The Minister said that Nigerian farmers were expected to make a 40 per cent down payment while the balance of 60 per cent would spread over a period of three years.

Abubakar said that the Ministry would acquire 10,000 units of Tractors with Implements and 50,000 units of assorted equipment to kick start the programme.

He said that the vital role of agriculture in the Nigerian economy makes it necessary for the sector to be re-invigorated through tractor acquisition in order to achieve food and nutrition security.

Abubakar said that it would lead to improved quantity and quality of food per person, reduce drudgery of farmers as well as increase productivity.

He said that Nigeria and Brazil entered into Bilateral Agreement under the More Food International Programme (MFIP) of Brazil which culminated in kind loan of 1.2 billion dollars.

In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr Ernest Umakhihe, said that the programme would move agriculture from subsistence to commercial business venture.

He said it would also increase the economy of most farmers, drive development in the agrarian communities, encourage youth participation and engagement among others.

Umakhihe was represented by the Director, Federal Department of Agriculture, Mr Abubakar Abdullahi.

Earlier, the Managing Director, BOA, Alhaji Alwan Hassan, said that the status of Agricultural Mechanisation in the country was very low.

He said it was estimated at 0.027hp/ha as against UN Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) Recommendation of 1.5hp/ha.

Hassan said that the success of agricultural production largely depended on the level of mechanisation.

The Chairman, Maize Farmers Association of Nigeria, Kaduna Chapter, Alhaji Iliyasu Muazu, solicited for more support to ensure that farmers benefit from the programme across the 774 Local Government Areas.
