Argument between police, military claims two lives in Nasarawa

Fight between a police and military officers arising from argument that ensued has left two person dead in Nasarawa state.

Disagreement City Post gathered ensued between a police and a military officer in the Agyaragu Community, Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State,

The death of the two persons followed a alleged violent clash between a Police Special Constabulary officer and a soldier.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer Nasarawa state command, DSP Ramhan Nansel, told TMSNEWS that two police stations in the community were also attacked.

According to DSP Nansel, the altercation began when a soldier on leave got into a fight with a police Special Constabulary officer in Agyaragu, resulting in both parties stabbing each other, which led to the soldier’s death.

In response, youths from the soldier’s neighbouring community reportedly mobilized and attacked, setting the police stations on fire.

Nansel added that peace has been restored in the area after a visit from the State Commissioner of Police, Shehu Nadada.
