ARD BSUTH Lauds Gov Alia Over Prompt Release Of 2023 Residency Training Fund

Association of Resident Doctors, ARD, Benue State University Teaching Hospital, BSUTH has commended the Benue State Governor Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia for timely release of funds for the 2023 Medical Residency Training Fund, MRTF at the revised rate.


President of the Association Benue State University Teaching Hospital, BSUTH, branch Dr Moses Agwa who gave the commendation explained that the medical residency training fund, MRTF, is a programme designed to provide financial support to various expenses associated with residency training, including fees such as examination, updates, research projects and other cost related to doctors training.

Dr Agwa whose commendation was contained in a statement signed by secretary general of Association of Resident Doctors, ARD, BSUTH branch Dr Omale Odeje, made available to journalists at the weekend in Makurdi, while commending the governor for his commitment towards the welfare of medical doctors and the overall growth of the health sector in the state, equally expressed appreciation to governor Alia for ensuring a seamless operation of residency training in the institution.

Dr Agwa added that with the timely payment, the governor has made history by becoming the first Nigerian governor to make payment for the exercise in the year 2023, even as the amount has been increased, almost doubling it’s previous years.
According to Dr Agwa, the gesture would enable doctors meet their registration deadline for both their examinations and course updates, adding that it has further demonstrated governor Alia’s understanding of the crucial role the medical professionals play in the lives of Benue people through provision of quality healthcare delivery.
The ARD BSUTH branch president further urged other stakeholders in the state to emulate the governor’s remarkable example of dedication and commitment aimed towards advancement of professional medical services across the state.
