Apply equity in ministers’ appointment, CSO tells Tinubu

As the nation awaits the appointment of ministers, a Civil Society organization (CSO), Advocate for Better Leadership and Sustainable Rural Development Initiative (ABLE), has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure Inclusiveness in the constitution of the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
The National Coordinator of ABLE, Comrade Destiny Uche Madu, who made this assertion during a World press conference, in Abuja noted that it is imperative for an Abuja indigene to be appointed as Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“Sequel to the resolutions of the inclusive pan- Nigerian leadership meeting of the ABLE, which was held in Abuja recently, and which had in attendance representatives from the Six (6) Area Councils of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, ABLE reiterated it’s initial general appreciation of the magnitude of the true state of affairs and the need to mainstream the indigenous communities of the FCT in policy formulation and decision making in tandem with the provisions of the of the Nigerian Constitution and other geo- consequential extant laws which undergird inclusive governance.
“We therefore reiterate our earlier stand that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration should write its name in the history books by appointing FCT indigene as Minister FCT or at least, Minister of state FCT.
“While we acknowledged the the contributions of front line patriots of FCT like Hon. Micah Jiba, Senator Philip Aduda, Abdullahi Adamu Candido, Hon. Jisalo Zephaniah and others who have ensured harmonious peaceful coexistence in FCT. We urge them to forge a common front and support the present administration.
“We observed that the epoch making and defining 2023 General Elections which midwifed the visionary Godsent, His Excellency President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kasshim Shettima, progressive revolutionary platform has brought to the fore bravery, courage and patriotism in a way and manner unprecedented in the political annals of the Nigerian state.
“ABLE is one – up for the President Tinubu administration for achieving in the space of two weeks what prior Federal administrations didn’t accomplish in four years.
“Fired by ethico moral idealism and the patriotic imperative to restore the moral fabric of Nigerian Society, the President Tinubu administration has made certain critical, well sequenced moves which essentially transcended stereotypes and decisively resolved the hitherto inherent lingering contradictions which afflicts national governance.
“Never since the founding of the Nigerian States via the 1914 Act of Amalgamation were hopes so roused and aspirations so raised ! President Tinubu has put Nigeria and the World on notice that Africa has come of age and he is prepared to accomplish the historical tasks that posterity has beckoned on him to so do in his enlightened approach to governance predicated as it were on his vast intellectual endowments, impeccable pedigree and rich antecedents.
“While we specially applaud President Tinubu’s courage to remove the controversial fuel subsidy, we implore him to ensure adequate palliatives to ameliorate the sufferings of the masses. The government should stop at nothing in ensuring that Nigerians are not impoverished by the removal of fuel Subsidy.
