The Nigerian entertainment industry was struck with concern today as the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Dr. Ejezie Emeka Rollas, MON, issued a press release addressing the health challenges faced by one of Nollywood’s most beloved personality John Okafor, who is popularly known as Mr.

Ibu.

In the statement released on this day, Dr.

Rollas expressed profound apprehension for Mr. Ibu’s health and emphasized the commitment of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) to provide unwavering support during this trying period.
Dr. Rollas personally visited the renowned actor in the hospital to assess his condition and collaborate with his medical team.

Dr. Rollas confirmed that Mr. Ibu’s condition, though serious, is treatable. He underscored the paramount importance of unity within the Nollywood community and advised against engaging in disputes or controversies related to Mr. Ibu’s health.

The press release also addressed the circulating rumors regarding potential plans to transfer Mr. Ibu abroad for medical treatment, urging a cautious and informed approach in making such decisions, in order to best meet his medical requirements.

Dr. Rollas emphasized the importance of refraining from making public statements on social media without a comprehensive understanding of the situation and encouraged the discreet support of Mr. Ibu and his family. To facilitate this, the AGN has established the AGN Trust Fund, with renowned actress Joke Silver overseeing the fund to ensure the credibility of contributions.
