Progressive Governors’ Forum Donates N200 Million to Support Super Eagles Ahead of Semi-Final Clash

In a remarkable show of solidarity and support, the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) has generously donated N200 million to the Super Eagles of Nigeria in anticipation of their upcoming semi-final encounter against South Africa.


The announcement was made by the Minister of Sports, Sen. John Owan Enoh, through a statement released by his Special Adviser, Media, Diana-Mary Nsan.

Commending Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State and Chairman of the Forum, along with all members, for their prompt response, Minister Enoh confirmed the swift disbursement of the allocated funds to the national football team.

“The Progressive Governors’ Forum, under the leadership of Governor Uzodimma of Imo, has demonstrated unwavering support by releasing the sum of N200 million to the Super Eagles,” stated Minister Enoh.

He further emphasized the team’s dedication and resilience throughout the tournament, highlighting their potential to clinch the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title once again. Minister Enoh urged Nigerians to rally behind the Super Eagles as they carry the nation’s hopes into the semi-final clash against South Africa.

The highly anticipated match is scheduled to take place today at the Stade de la Paix, Bouake, at 6 pm Nigerian time. This encounter marks a significant moment in Nigerian football history, with the Super Eagles seeking to replicate past successes against their perennial rivals.
