NIDCOM Chair Applauds UK-Based Firm for Empowering Nigerian in Diaspora Professionals

Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman of the Nigerians in the Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), expressed heartfelt commendations towards Avenue Impact, a UK-based consultancy firm, for their pivotal role in empowering and uplifting Nigerian professionals in the diaspora.

This commendation was delivered during a networking session with a cohort of Nigerian professionals in the UK, where Dabiri-Erewa lauded the firm for its remarkable efforts in enhancing skills and facilitating the transition of these professionals into adept Project professionals across diverse global regions, including the USA, Canada, Europe, and beyond.

NIDCOM Chairman acknowledged the firm’s dual focus, not only empowering the diaspora but also extending support to Nigeria by enhancing project management skills.

Their contribution has impacted over 10,000 members of the global diaspora community, fostering a mentorship cycle wherein mentees themselves evolve into mentors, supporting and guiding the younger generation within the diaspora community.

Attended by Mayor Micheal Situ of Southwark, the networking session witnessed compelling testimonials from beneficiaries of Avenue Impact’s training programs.

Attendees shared testimonies of the transformative impact these acquired skills had on their professional lives, significantly enhancing their job acquisition and performance metrics.

Dabiri-Erewa encouraged further collaboration, urging Avenue Impact to align with the Commission’s initiatives, including the National Diaspora Day on July 25, the Nigerians Diaspora Investment Summit (NDIS), the Badagry Door of Return, and the Nigeria Diaspora Housing Scheme.

Mr. Funsho Akinwunmi, Managing Director of Avenue Impact, emphasized the gathering’s aim to unify Nigerian Project and IT Professionals.
The event fostered networking opportunities and hosted discussions on leveraging acquired skills to add substantial value in both the UK and Nigeria.
Akinwunmi reaffirmed the firm’s dedication to supporting governmental initiatives aimed at mutual growth and development.

Reiterating Avenue Impact’s commitment, Mr. Tunji Ajidahun, Programme Director at Avenue Impact Limited, emphasized the firm’s unwavering commitment to continually training Nigerians in the diaspora, equipping them with indispensable skills for more lucrative career placements globally.

The event also hosted insightful talks by Pastor Smart Kemiki, Managing Director of Dominion4Eever Management Limited, who spoke on astute investments in the UK, and Dr. Babatunde Adeyemo, CEO of Pelican Valley Estate, discussing lucrative real estate investment opportunities in Nigeria. The evening culminated in a captivating performance by music mogul Paul Play Dairo.
