Gunmen Abduct Two Landlords in Abuja, Demand N20m Ransom

Gunmen has abducted two landlords within the Federal Capital Territory, on Sunday triggering panic and concern within the community.

According to eyewitness accounts, the armed assailants employed coercion, threatening one landlord at gunpoint to gain access to the first victim’s residence.

One resident, James, recounted the terrifying episode, detailing how the second victim was targeted upon arriving home.

“It happened around 11 pm on Sunday. One of the landlords, due to the heat, slept outside.

The assailants, armed and ruthless, cornered him, demanded access to his house, and were dissatisfied with his residence. They then compelled him to lead them to another neighboring house,” James narrated.

“The second landlord, arriving home on a motorcycle due to car issues, was ambushed as he attempted to enter his house. The attackers swiftly took him captive,” he added.

Shockingly, the gunmen swiftly made contact with the victims’ families, issuing a staggering ransom demand of N20 million for their release

A source, speaking under anonymity, revealed the extortion attempt, stating, “Two hours post-abduction, they demanded N10 million from each family. One family proposed N2 million, promising immediate payment, but faced rejection and threats of dire consequences if the entire sum wasn’t paid.”

Confirming the incident, Mohammed Seidu, the Asokoro Commander of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, assured ongoing efforts in collaboration with the police to rescue the kidnapped victims. “Policemen from the Asokoro Police Station are actively engaged in this matter. We’re scouring nearby areas, hoping to secure their safe return,” he stated.

The FCT Police Command is yet to issue an official statement regarding this alarming development, leaving the community anxiously awaiting updates on the situation.
