The Court of Appeal, Abuja Division, has upheld Natasha Akpoti-Uduagan as the legitimate victor of the Kogi Central Senatorial Election held in February.

The court decisively dismissed the appeal lodged by Abubakar Ohere, citing a lack of merit in the case.

This ruling follows a significant decision made earlier in September by the Kogi State Election Petition Tribunal in Lokoja, which nullified the election victory of Ohere, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and declared Natasha Akpoti-Uduagan, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as the rightful winner of the senatorial poll.

Ohere subsequently pursued his case to the Court of Appeal in an attempt to challenge the tribunal’s verdict, but today’s ruling reaffirmed Natasha Akpoti-Uduagan’s victory as the legitimate winner of the Kogi Central Senatorial Election.
