Just -in: Court of Appeal in Abuja Ousts Senator Ishaku Elisha Abbo

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has issued a ruling that leads to the removal of Senator Ishaku Elisha Abbo from his seat as the representative of Adamawa North Senatorial District in Adamawa State at the Nigerian 9th National Assembly.

Senator Elisha Abbo, who had previously been affiliated with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), made headlines when he defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) following his initial term as Senator.

Senator Abbo has faced another legal setback in the same court, where he contested the outcome of the 2023 senatorial election.

The Court of Appeal’s recent ruling signals his defeat in this election petition, marking a new chapter in the political landscape of Adamawa North Senatorial District.
