The Pastor-in-Charge of Summit Bible Church in Kubwa, Dan Anorue, delivered a message of hope to his congregation during the celebration of the Church’s 18th anniversary, held under the theme “Flourish.

” The event took place on Sunday, and Pastor Anorue spoke of Nigeria’s potential for growth and prosperity despite the economic challenges brought on by the removal of the fuel subsidy.

Drawing inspiration from the Book of Psalm 92:12, the pastor emphasized that flourishing was a promise for the righteous, much like “a palm tree that grows like a cedar in Lebanon.

” He urged Christians not to be disheartened by economic hardships, emphasizing that change is inevitable for Nigeria.

“We must flourish in this nation. To flourish means to boom, blossom, and prosper, which is the will of God for every believer,” Pastor Anorue stated, highlighting the unwavering faith of the church in the face of subsidy removal challenges. He expressed optimism about the nation’s future, affirming that God is interested in Nigeria’s affairs.

During his sermon, Pastor Anorue called for believers to take responsibility and make a breakthrough, not merely endure hardships. He encouraged matured Christianity and spreading the glory of God to those around them.

Guest minister Pastor Kunle Ladejobi echoed this sentiment and discouraged the “Japa syndrome,” stressing that Nigeria possesses both human and natural resources for prosperity. He referenced the story of Isaac from the Book of Genesis, underlining that Christians can still prosper even in challenging times.

“In famine, if you remember clearly in famine, Isaac in the Bible sowed and he received a hundredfold,” Ladejobi said, emphasizing the power of God to provide in all circumstances. He urged the faithful to rely on God and His guidance for their prosperity.

Reflecting on the church’s 18-year journey, members expressed their enduring faith and unity, which have kept them close-knit and resilient. Mrs. Odinakaonye Lagi spoke of the church’s unity, describing it as a source of strength during challenging times.

Chairman of the occasion, Mr. Kingsley Akwudolu, described the 18th-anniversary celebration as a fantastic moment filled with glory.

The event was marked by special performances and the cutting of an anniversary cake, reinforcing the message of hope and unity within Summit Bible Church.
