Tragedy as Church Building Collapses in Markudi, Benue State

A church building located in Markudi, the capital of Benue State, has tragically collapsed, claiming the life of the church’s pastor. The unfortunate event unfolded at the Dunamis Church, situated in the Mission Ward North Bank area of Makurdi during the early hours of Tuesday.

According to reports from Channels TV, at the time of the incident, four individuals, including the pastor, were inside the church premises engaged in prayer.

Three fortunate individuals managed to escape the catastrophe unharmed.

The exact cause of this devastating collapse remains shrouded in mystery as investigators work tirelessly to uncover the circumstances that led to this tragedy.

The aftermath of the incident not only took a toll on the church but also impacted nearby residential buildings and electricity infrastructure.

Responding swiftly to the crisis, law enforcement personnel from the ‘C’ Division, North Bank, Makurdi, were already on the scene. Simultaneously, emergency services and responders mobilized to the site of the collapsed building, seeking to provide immediate assistance and support.
