Honourable Minister Tuggar Urges Collective Responsibility for Nation Building on Nigeria’s 63rd Independence Anniversary

The Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, extended warm felicitations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) and the citizens of Nigeria as the nation celebrated its 63rd independence anniversary.

In a statement signed by Alkasim Abdulkadir, Special Assistant On Media and Communications Strategy to the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Tuggar underscored the collective responsibility of all Nigerians in the crucial task of nation-building.

Ambassador Tuggar called upon Nigerians to maintain steadfast faith in President Tinubu’s administration, which is dedicated to strengthening democracy and fostering sustainable development across the country.

He urged citizens to use this occasion as an opportunity to reflect on the consistent progress Nigeria has achieved and to recognize themselves as indispensable contributors to the Nigerian Project. The Minister also urged Nigerians to unite in support of President Tinubu’s ambitious “Renewed Hope Agenda.”

Ambassador Tuggar reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ensuring the successful implementation of President Tinubu’s 4D strategy, popularly known as the Tinubu Doctrine. This comprehensive strategy is founded on four pillars: Democracy, aimed at nurturing political stability; Development, with the objective of catalyzing economic prosperity; Diaspora, focused on nurturing a global Nigerian community; and Demography, harnessing the potential of Nigeria’s youthful population.

During his address, Ambassador Tuggar cautioned against hate and divisiveness, which have the potential to undermine Nigeria’s unity and progress. He emphasized that nation-building is a shared responsibility, one that all well-meaning Nigerians, both at home and abroad, must embrace wholeheartedly. Together, they should strengthen their commitment to building a sustainable and prosperous nation that all Nigerians, regardless of their socio-cultural and political affiliations, can take pride in.

This call for unity and collective responsibility for nation-building resonated profoundly as Nigeria marked its 63rd Independence Anniversary, underscoring the critical importance of collaboration in realizing the nation’s full potential.
