Dr. Olaolu Abidemi Olubiyi, the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Ekiti State Specialist Hospital in Ikere-Ekiti, is facing allegations of domestic violence after reportedly assaulting his wife, Dr.

Adenike Olubiyi, during a heated dispute at their residence on St. David Hospital Compound in Ifaki-Ekiti. The incident occurred on September 14, 2023.

The dispute according to sources close to the family erupted over a contentious issue involving the CMD’s pregnant mistress.
According to them trouble began when Dr.

Adenike Olubiyi allegedly refused to care for a pregnant woman who was later identified as her husband’s mistress.

A relative of the victim disclosed that the CMD had instructed his wife to attend to one of his staff members who was impregnated by him. However, tensions escalated when Dr. Adenike Olubiyi declined this directive.

Witnesses reported that Dr. Olaolu Abidemi Olubiyi threatened harm during the altercation and allegedly attempted to strangle his wife at their residence. The victim, who also serves as a lecturer at Ekiti State University in Ado-Ekiti, sustained severe injuries to her neck and was subsequently admitted to the Accident and Emergency Unit of Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti.

Concerned for her welfare, the victim’s family has called on relevant authorities to intervene and provide assistance.
