Kidnap Nasarawa students:: Police confirm three shot, one female abducted

The Nasarawa State Police Command Tuesday confirmed that three students of the ISA Mustapha Agwai polytechnic situated at the heart of the state headquarters were shot by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers

The Command also confirm the abduction of the Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic (IMAP), Lafia.

The Police Command, in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, said the female student of the polytechnic was abducted during a robbery incident.

Our correspondent gathered that the the three students shot were receiving treatment in the state owned specialist hospital and are said to be in a stable condition while on the abducted student simply identified as Ajomuke, is an ND ll student of the Department of Science Laboratory Technology of the Institution.

Other male students shot during the raide The affected students male students shot were identified as Freedom Luka, HND l Public Administration; Ogwuche Janet, HND II Business Administration, and Danlandi Nicholas of Management Department, respectively.

It was reliably learnt that the abducted female student was among those who graduated recently from the institution and was feasiably noticed during their get together when her boy friend was displaying naira during the get together celebration.

One of the female students who narrowly escape the robbery attack who did not want her name mentioned claimed that she was returning home when they hard sporadic shoting ahead of them and they were forced to return and find their way to the one of their colleagues house for their safety.

According to the escape robbery victim, the level if insecurity within and outside the institution call for urgent attention.

She appealed to the security agencies to step up surveillance around the institution to forestall further attack on the students and other residents in the area.
Reports earlier said gunmen attacked the institution, shot three students, and abducted one other.
