The United Kingdom government has opened a new visa centre in Enugu, providing a convenient option for residents of Enugu State and the broader South-East region to process their travel applications.

This initiative was established following discussions between Governor Peter Mbah and the UK High Commissioner to Nigeria, Dr. Richard Montgomery, during the commissioner’s visit to Enugu in June.

The Enugu State government expressed its appreciation for this development and its potential to enhance economic partnerships and cultural exchanges between the state and the UK.

It encourages residents to take advantage of this opportunity, highlighting the state’s commitment to improving security and its readiness for business and investment.

In addition to the visa centre, the UK and Enugu State have announced plans for a strategic partnership in areas such as power, education, and public health to drive economic development.

This partnership builds upon their longstanding collaboration, spanning over two decades, in sectors such as public health, education, and power sector reforms, demonstrating a commitment to mutual growth and progress.
